Support for S. 1694

S. 1694, the Yakima River Basin Water Enhancement Project Phase III Act of 2015, was introduced in July 2015, cosponsored by Senators Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray (D-Wash.).  This legislation authorizes the Initial Development Phase, or first ten years of the Integrated Plan, providing support and partial funding for the most vital and urgently needed water management and conservation projects. Initial Development Phase actions include fish passage at Cle Elum Reservoir, the Kachess Drought Relief Pumping Plant, conservation of up to 85,000 acre feet of water per year, habitat restoration, groundwater storage and more efficient water markets.
